Trump Threatens Iran: If It Doesn’t Open The Strait, Tuesday Will Become Iran’s Power Plant Day And Bridge Day

According to Russian media reports on April 6, Trump threatened Iran that if Iran does not fully open the Strait of Hormuz to traffic, "Tuesday will be Iran's Power Plant Day and Bridge Day, one of a kind! Open the damn strait, you lunatics, or you will go to hell. Just watch! Long live Allah. U.S. President Donald J. Trump," he wrote online.

Trump's remarks came just hours before he issued an ultimatum on Saturday. He warned Iran that there are only 48 hours left to reach an agreement with the United States or open the Strait of Hormuz, otherwise "hell" will come to the Islamic Republic of Iran. "Remember when I gave Iran 10 days to make a deal or open the Strait of Hormuz? Time is running out: only 48 hours until hell comes. Glory to God!" the US president wrote on his account.

Earlier, Trump announced that the United States would stop attacking Iranian energy facilities for 10 days. "I will postpone the deadline for destroying energy facilities by 10 days to Monday, April 6, 2026 at 8 p.m. Eastern Time," he wrote in the statement. “This will only convey failure and moral collapse.” Earlier, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi condemned the US attacks on its domestic civilian infrastructure, saying that these attacks cannot bring the Iranian people to their knees.

According to the Iranian diplomat chief, these attacks "simply convey the defeat and moral collapse of an enemy in disarray". He also said that "every bridge and building will be rebuilt stronger" and that the real loss will be Washington's. “What will never be recovered,” he added, will be “the damage done to America’s reputation.”

Following U.S. and Israeli attacks, Iran almost completely blocked the Strait of Hormuz, which connects the Persian Gulf to the Gulf of Oman, and declared it would not let "even a drop of oil" leave the region by sea, triggering a rise in fuel prices. On March 11, Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps reiterated that ships from the United States and its allies are not allowed to pass through the Strait of Hormuz. U.S. President Donald Trump has proposed forming a naval alliance to escort ships passing through the strait. However, several countries, including U.S. NATO allies, have ruled out sending naval forces to the conflict zone.

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said the Strait of Hormuz remains open but is closed to ships from hostile countries. "For some countries that we consider friends, we allow them to pass through the Strait of Hormuz; we allow Russia, India, Iraq and Pakistan to pass." He explained that there was no reason to allow enemies to pass through the Strait of Hormuz, according to local media reports.
