On June 18, the 2024 graduation ceremony and degree awarding ceremony of Henan University of Finance and Economics and Law was grandly held at Zhengdong Campus. Secretary of the school party committee, president Si Linsheng and other school leaders, members of the school degree evaluation committee, heads of relevant functional departments, teacher representatives, alumni representatives, current student representatives and all graduate and undergraduate (junior) students in the class of 2024 participated in the event. The graduation ceremony was hosted by Luo Songyuan, director of the Organization Department of the Party Committee.
The graduation ceremony kicked off with the solemn national anthem. In his speech, Si Linsheng expressed affectionate congratulations to all graduates of the class of 2024 on their successful completion of their studies on behalf of the school, and expressed his heartfelt thanks to the teachers and family members who have witnessed and accompanied the graduates' growth and success. He specifically expressed his praise for the 45 retired soldiers among the 2024 graduates who actively responded to the call of the country while at school, took their pens to serve in the army, and defended their homes and country for their dedication.
Si Linsheng pointed out that today’s graduation ceremony is just a farewell to the University of Finance and Economics where they have studied and lived, not a farewell to their youth. The youth of the students will bloom as a result of graduation. He encouraged everyone that youth will never end, and graduation is the prelude to youth. No matter where the students are in the future, they must use their dreams as horses, keep walking, write dazzling youth answers, and be the dream chasers of the times. Struggle is the march of youth. Struggle is not only the pursuit of dreams, but also the love of life. Every struggle and every persistence is paving the way for your future; growth. It is the battle song of youth. We must seize the opportunity, let go of the resentment of "involution", abandon the argument of "laying down", and abandon the fantasy of "laying down and winning". Don't let the temporary loss cover the light in front of you. The so-called regret is another kind of growth; dreams are the symphony of youth. As long as we keep working hard and achieve our dreams in hard running and continuous struggle, ordinary life will eventually shine brightly. He sent a message to the students that no matter how bumpy their life is, they should live it brightly. I hope the students will go on a journey of thousands of miles and come back still young! In his speech, Ma Hua, an outstanding alumni representative, a 1999 alumnus of the School of Business Administration, dean of the Rural Revitalization Institute of Shanxi University, second-level professor of the School of Politics and Public Administration, and winner of the National Talent Plan, hoped that every junior and junior student could be a person with a rich spiritual world, a person with a healthy body, and a person who maintains love and firm beliefs.
In their speeches, Wang Luyao, a graduate representative of the junior college and a student of the School of Accounting, and Si Yu, a graduate representative of the master's degree and a student of the School of International Economics and Trade, reviewed their learning and growth experiences during their time at the school, expressed their gratitude to the school for their training, and said that they would be humble and studious in the future, adhere to the school motto, be down-to-earth, work hard, and write their thesis on the land of the motherland.
