【School History】
The predecessor of Yunnan University of Finance and Economics is the Yunnan Provincial Financial Cadre School, which was founded in 1951. In 1979, it opened a junior college class in finance and trade to recruit junior college students. In 1981, it established the Yunnan University of Finance and Economics and started full-time undergraduate education. In 1995, it was transferred to Yunnan University of Finance and Economics. The Southern Provincial Government identified it as a provincial key university; it merged with Yunnan Economic and Management Cadre College in 1998; it was renamed Yunnan University of Finance and Economics in 2006; it became a doctorate-authorizing unit in 2013, and obtained the first postdoctoral mobile station in 2014. The school operates in Kunming City, Yunnan Province. It has Longquan Road Campus and Anning Campus, covering a total area of more than 2,100 acres. It currently has more than 34,000 full-time students, of which undergraduates account for 86.5%. After more than 70 years of development, it has formed a multi-level talent training system that organically connects undergraduate, master's and doctoral education, as well as international student training and continuing education. It has become a multi-disciplinary university with economics and management as its main focus and the coordinated development of law, literature, science, engineering, art and other disciplines.
