IT House reported on February 16 that the 2026 Kia Sportage will be officially launched on March 5. The car rolled off the production line at Kia's Jiangsu Yancheng factory on February 7, with major exterior and interior adjustments. For comparison, the guide price range of the 2025 Lion Extension currently on sale is 179,800-237,800 yuan.
The appearance of the new car continues the brand's "unity of opposites" design language, but has been adjusted for the front and rear styling. The front part of the car uses redesigned star pattern daytime running lights, combined with a horizontal black grille and chrome trim, to further enhance the visual width. The rear of the car is equipped with star-shaped through-taillights, echoing the front of the car. Combined with the two-color design of the roof spoiler and rear bumper, it enhances the overall sense of hierarchy.
In terms of intelligent driving assistance, the new car extends the coverage of L2+ driving assistance system to the main sales models, and adds HDA 2 Highway Driving Assistance System II and RSPA remote control intelligent parking assistance functions.
In terms of specifications, the length, width and height of the car are 4695 mm, 1865 mm, 1678 (1680) mm respectively, and the wheelbase is 2755 mm. In terms of power, there are two gasoline engine options, namely the 1.5T engine model G4FS with a maximum power of 147 kilowatts, and the 2.0T engine model G4NN with a maximum power of 180 kilowatts. Both engines are expected to be matched with automatic transmissions, and specific transmission information is subject to further official announcement.
