The Nancai campus was lush and green in May. After offline classes started, the campus regained its former vitality and vitality. In order to enrich the cultural life of students and activate the campus cultural atmosphere, our school organized students to carry out graffiti activities on manhole covers, using their paintbrushes to add color to the campus "well".
Nancai logo, cartoon characters, campus scenery…manhole covers with colorful and rich meanings appear on the main roads around Nancai College of Art and Design, making the originally inconspicuous manhole covers bright and bright, becoming a unique landscape on campus. Teachers and students passing by stopped to watch and take photos to commemorate.
"The manhole cover I drew uses the abbreviation 'NUFE' of Nancai as the main pattern, and the color uses the same gradient jelly color of strawberry as the graffiti letters, which adds a bit of spring atmosphere. Don't forget to find the little 'berries' around you when the school is closed due to the epidemic." Deng Yiming, a classmate of Visual Communication 1901, combined strawberry elements with "NUFE" elements to add a bit of liveliness to the campus scenery.
Qiu Huaguang from Visual Communication Class 2102 and Shen Junyao from Environment Class 2102 created a manhole cover work called "Roadblock" that was three-dimensional and lifelike, attracting onlookers from passing students. “I was inspired when I saw roadblocks on the road. Based on the design reference of the overall academic atmosphere in the new era, and by enriching the physical structure to make up for the modeling defects, we want to use this method to enrich the artistic form language level inside the campus.”
Student Liu Qiwen was one of the participants in this activity. She and her classmates completed the drawing of manhole covers: "I hope these manhole covers can bring a happy mood to the students in the closed school and add agility and vitality to the campus."
"Manhole covers were originally an unnoticed presence on campus. Graffiti on manhole covers is a special form of artistic expression. We hope that in this way, we can add a beautiful scenery to Nancai campus, enrich campus culture, provide students with more space to show their abilities, and convey the concept of 'art can make life better' with a lifelike visual image," said Ding Lei, dean of the college.
