In terms of market transaction prices, Dewu App shows that as of March 3, the transaction price of Victor's new carbon sound artificial fur badminton (12 pieces in 1 tube) dropped to 77 yuan, 18 yuan lower than the 95 yuan at the end of February; the average transaction price of Yonex duck feather badminton dropped from 169 yuan in January to 149 yuan, and the single tube dropped by 20 yuan. Industry insiders said that this round of price cuts is driven by falling raw material costs, inventory clearance, and intensified industry competition, and the badminton market is returning to rationality.
Many brands officially announce price cuts
In the terminal market, price cuts are not an isolated phenomenon, but a collective action by leading brands.
On February 24, Victor took the lead in issuing a price adjustment notice to dealers, implementing new prices for natural badminton and nylon balls; subsequently, brands such as Szhuangge and Chikenu followed suit. The Szhuangge Sports Interactive Flagship Store announced that it had decided to reduce the price of the entire series of badmintons by 5 yuan to 10 yuan/tube, and the price of the full series of badminton badmintons by 6 yuan per tube. On February 28, Yaslon announced that it would reduce product prices starting from March 1, and brands such as Chaopai and Weiken followed suit.
In mid-to-late February, many badminton brands announced price cuts.
As of March 3, although Yonex has not issued an official price reduction announcement, due to industry price adjustments and market competition, online and offline market prices have loosened simultaneously, and the transaction prices of many types of duck feather, goose feather and other training balls have dropped significantly. Badminton prices have risen for two consecutive years, with the highest increase exceeding 100%
Judging from the price trend, this round of price cuts is a callback to the high prices of the previous two years. From 2023 to 2025, due to the shortage of raw materials for duck and goose feathers, rising breeding costs, and surge in market demand, the price of badminton has continued to rise. Some high-end models have increased by more than 100% within two years, and consumers have said that they "cannot afford to play".
Poster News reported in July 2024 that in early 2024, badminton prices soared. The price increases of domestic leading badminton manufacturers were generally 20 to 30% higher than last year. In the Jinan market, the price increase of some models reached more than 60%, and many popular models were out of stock. On July 9, 2024, a clerk at a sports goods store in Jinan City told reporters helplessly that the price of badminton balls has soared, and some popular models are out of stock. "Yonex No. 03 brand balls, 12 balls per dozen, a year ago we sold about 85 yuan/dozen, 90 yuan/dozen, now they sell for 140 yuan/dozen, an increase of 64%."
In 2025, badminton prices will see intensive price increases, with a total of three price increases throughout the year. In April, a number of well-known badminton brands, including Victor, announced price increases, ranging from 5% to 29%. On July 1, badminton head brand YONEX once again announced an increase in product prices. It will implement new prices starting from August 1. Many badminton models will increase by 30 yuan to 40 yuan. Before April 2025, the retail price of Yonex's mainstream high-end AS-05 badminton was 210 yuan/tube, which rose to 275 yuan/tube after July of the same year, an increase of more than 30%. On March 3, 2026, the price of this model of badminton in the official Taobao store was 370 yuan/tube. After adding platform subsidies, the price was 345 yuan/tube.
Why did the price increase for three consecutive years “brake”?
Starting from September 2025, the upstream raw material market will see a turning point.
The reporter checked the Down Gold Network and found that starting from September 2025, the wholesale prices of duck and goose feathers have dropped sharply. White goose down feathers and gray goose down feathers fell from a peak of 860 yuan/kg to 730 yuan/kg. The gradual recovery of poultry breeding production capacity has provided cost support for terminal price reductions.
Although the downward trend in the wholesale price of duck and goose feathers has eased from October 2025, it has maintained an upward trend so far. However, an industry practitioner revealed that the badminton production cycle is about three months, and brands need to digest the inventory of high-priced raw material production in the early stage. Therefore, the price reduction of raw materials is not immediately transmitted to the terminal. After the Spring Festival in 2026, high-priced inventory was basically cleared, cost pressure was released, and the industry's destocking demand was superimposed. Brand owners concentrated on lowering prices, and terminal transaction prices fell rapidly.
