China Youth Network, Beijing, March 13 (Reporter Ma Yunfei, Correspondent Liu Xiang) In order to convey the concept of environmental protection among young students, guide college students to establish environmental awareness, promote and practice the spirit of Lei Feng, on the occasion of Arbor Day on March 12, the Youth League Committee of Anhui University of Finance and Economics launched a series of public welfare and environmental protection activities.
On March 2nd and 12th, the Young Volunteers Association of Anhui University of Finance and Economics, at the invitation of the Huaishang District Committee of Bengbu City, went to Huaishang together with three other universities in Bengbu City to carry out the voluntary tree planting activity of "Youth Gathering Green Huaishang, Hand in Hand to Spread Hope". In Caolaoji Town and Guihua Garden District of Huaishang District, volunteers worked together to plant more than 1,500 Magnolia grandiflora trees into the soil. The tree planting site was tense and orderly, and the volunteers were enthusiastic. Then the volunteers wrote on the blessing cards in their hands, "Tomorrow will be better for financial security" and "Plant love and let hope fly", so that their good hopes can grow together with the small tree.
On March 12, Anhui University of Finance and Economics’ Green Club and the Student Network Workstation jointly held an online and offline event for college students to adopt green plants with the theme of “Turn seeds into green plants, green our campus”. Students can receive a pack of wolfberry flower seeds by voting offline to be selected as green ambassadors; students write their own environmental declaration, sign and take photos and send it via Weibo to spread the concept of green environmental protection online. The students actively participated in the activities, enhanced their awareness of environmental protection, and truly realized the importance of low-carbon environmental protection.
This series of public welfare and environmental protection activities reflects the profound understanding of environmental protection by the youth of Anhui University of Finance and Economics. It is a powerful combination of young volunteers actively carrying out activities to learn from Lei Feng and serving the construction of local ecological civilization. College students use their own practical actions to practice the concept of building an ecological campus.
