China News Service, Xi'an, April 8 (Alina Liu Yani) The 4th Nature International Academic Conference on "Flexible Electronics for Life and Health" was co-organized by Nature and its series of journals in conjunction with the National Key Laboratory of Flexible Electronics, Northwestern Polytechnical University, the National University of Singapore and other units. It opened in Xi'an on the 8th.
It is understood that the theme of this conference focuses on the potential of emerging technologies in exploring human disease mechanisms and physiological states, and is committed to promoting their wider application to improve the health and well-being of all people. The conference agenda covers four core directions: sensing and regulating electronic devices and materials for biological systems, wearable and implantable technologies in the medical and health field, artificial intelligence-driven medical devices, and brain-computer interface technology. During the three-day conference, top experts and scholars from around the world were invited to give conference reports. The conference also brought together a number of editors of the "Nature" series of journals, and specially set up a meeting and exchange session with editors to provide participating scholars with the opportunity to communicate face-to-face with journal editors.

Huang Wei, chairman of the 4th Nature Conference on Flexible Electronics – Flexible Electronics for Life and Health and an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, said that flexible electronics technology has broken through the limitations of traditional rigid electronic devices and has become a transformative force in the field of life and health. It has now been applied in non-invasive physical sign monitoring, precise targeted therapy, rapid disease screening and other aspects. Wang Liqian, senior editor of Nature, introduced that the conference series was initiated 10 years ago by Nature editor-in-chief Karl Ziemelis and Academician Huang Wei. After four years of development, it has witnessed rapid iterations and cross-border breakthroughs in the field of flexible electronics. Today, flexible electronics and bio-integrated electronics have moved from technology demonstrations to practical applications in health care. Interdisciplinary integration is the core advantage of this field. Currently, relevant technologies are being widely used in multiple scenarios such as health monitoring, disease diagnosis, and clinical treatment, effectively serving real medical and health needs.
