Can you believe it? An active-duty Japanese officer bought a knife in advance, took leave and ran to Tokyo. He climbed over the wall and broke into the Chinese Embassy in Japan. He also squatted and hid in the bushes inside the embassy for a long time. This matter would be a huge diplomatic incident for any country, but Japanese officials have been pretending to be dead since the incident happened. The Chinese side has been asking questions for several days, but they can't even get an accurate answer. Forcibly characterizing a serious diplomatic incident in which active-duty soldiers broke into a foreign embassy as an ordinary domestic criminal case is full of problems. At the same time, China also requires the Japanese side to thoroughly investigate the entire incident. Murata visited the spot in advance to buy the knife, what exactly he wanted to do after entering the embassy, what was his motive, what was his purpose, and whether anyone else knew or participated. These questions must be investigated clearly and an answer that can withstand testing be given.
China has full legal basis for making these demands. The Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations clearly stipulates that the host country has the obligation to protect the security of foreign embassies in its country and that the embassy shall be free from any form of intrusion or damage. Since Japan has ratified this convention, it must assume corresponding international obligations.
In this incident, a Japanese active-duty officer climbed over the wall and entered the Chinese Embassy with a knife. The reason why China has such a tough attitude is not just to gain a breath.
If Japan were to let this matter go by "regret", wouldn't it be equivalent to sending a signal to the outside world? Invading the Chinese Embassy would only cost Japan "regret" and it would not have to bear any other responsibilities. This precedent cannot be set by China at any time.

Shanghai increases its investment in AI4S (scientific intelligence) early stage investment!
On March 27, at the opening ceremony of the 2026 Global Developers Pioneer Conference, Shanghai State-owned Assets Investment Corporation, a Shanghai state-owned capital investment operation platform that undertakes the core functions of "fund management + innovation incubation", launched a special fund for scientific intelligence and set up an exclusive exhibition area to focus on the scientific and technological achievements of invested companies and ecological partners, presenting a full-chain innovation ecology of scientific intelligence from basic research to industrial implementation.
A reporter from the Securities Times learned that the fund was led by Shanghai State Investment Corporation and anchored the strategic layout of the entire AI4S industry chain, comprehensively covering key areas such as computing power support, data elements, scientific instruments, large scientific models, and agents. It uses an end-to-end closed-loop investment model to fill the early investment gaps in the field of disruptive innovation, activate the AI4S ecological resources within the Shanghai State Investment System, and fully promote Shanghai to build a global AI4S innovation source highland.
As a cutting-edge paradigm for artificial intelligence-enabled scientific research, AI4S is profoundly promoting the in-depth integration and energy level improvement of basic research and industrial innovation. It has become an important strategic pivot for Shanghai to build an international science and technology innovation center and proactively layout future industries.
At the conference site, a number of scientific and technological innovation companies such as Shenzhen Technology, Tianwu Technology, and Dingxi Intelligent Innovation made a concentrated appearance, covering diverse tracks such as biomedicine, intelligent equipment, medical technology, and smart mines, showing the broad application prospects of AI4S in vertical fields; AI4S theme innovation night talks, "AI Virtual Cell" seminars and other series of activities were simultaneously promoted, continuing to amplify the demonstration effect of Shanghai's AI4S ecology, and effectively promote the efficient connection between technological innovation and industrial needs.

At present, Shanghai SDIC has proactively laid out strategic and leading future industrial tracks such as controllable nuclear fusion, quantum chips, silicon light, and brain-computer interfaces.
