As Reality Labs gradually fades away from the "Metaverse" narrative, Meta is increasing its mass production of AI wearable devices and simultaneously strengthening the layout of self-developed AI models.
Zuckerberg said that billions of people around the world rely on glasses or contact lenses to correct their vision, and the opportunity for AI glasses, just like when smartphones replaced flip phones, is "only a matter of time." He believes that it will be unimaginable if most of the glasses people wear in a few years are not AI glasses.
Zuckerberg also revealed that sales of Meta glasses have tripled in the past year and are "one of the fastest-growing products in the history of consumer electronics."
According to foreign media TechCrunch, Google is expected to launch a smart glasses product line this year, after Google reached a $150 million cooperation with Warby Parker. Apple also plans to release smart glasses in the next 1-2 years, and has shifted some employees in this direction from the lighter Vision Pro project. Snap announced that it will spin off AR glasses Specs into a new subsidiary to increase business focus.
According to IT House, at present, Meta is still the company with the fastest advancement in the smart glasses market, and has a number of products on sale, including Oakley smart glasses for sports scenes.
