Su Yiming made a slight mistake in the third prop area in the first round. He did two 1620-degree flips and a 1260-degree flip in the platform area, scoring 70.83 points and ranking sixth. In the second round, Su Yiming's difficulty and completion quality in the prop area improved. He performed a 1080-degree, a 1620-degree and a 1260-degree aerial flip in the platform area. The segment score improved, but the completion score was still not ideal. In the end, he ranked eighth with a score of 72.78 in the second slide and advanced to the finals.

The Men's Snowboard Slopestyle Qualifying Competition was originally scheduled to be held on the 16th local time, but due to weather conditions, it was rescheduled and advanced to the 15th. Regarding the advance of the competition, Su Yiming said after the game that since the public training has different plans every day and suddenly one day is missing, there will be some fluctuations and tension in the mentality, but he has been mentally prepared before the qualifying competition. "Every player has the same training time and competes in a completely fair state. If others can do it, then so can I." Su Yiming said.
"I enjoy everything from the public training to the qualifying competition. This is the state I should be in. It is not as stressful as the big platform." Su Yiming said, "The biggest task today is to enter the finals. Next, I will study in depth with the coach to prepare for the finals."
In the qualifying match that day, two other Chinese players, Yang Wenlong and Ge Chunyu, made varying degrees of mistakes and ended up ranking 22nd and 28th respectively, missing the finals. New Zealand's Menzies scored a game-high 86.06 points in his first skate and advanced to the finals in first place.
