Recently, comments on the Internet about our school’s “study companion” program for Chinese and foreign students have aroused social concern. During the implementation of the project, due to lax review and control, problems such as inappropriate options for "making foreign friends of the opposite sex" appeared in the relevant registration forms, which caused adverse effects. We deeply apologize for this. We express our sincere gratitude to people from all walks of life who care about the development of Shandong University, and sincerely treat the criticisms and suggestions of netizens.
The school implements the "study companion" project for Chinese and foreign students, which aims to promote academic progress and cultural exchanges through Chinese and foreign students learning from each other. This project selects Chinese and foreign students who voluntarily sign up, and requires students participating in the project to strictly abide by relevant regulations. Participating students carry out learning and exchange activities in small groups, and there is no situation where one male international student corresponds to three female study partners. Since the launch of the project, it has been welcomed by Chinese and foreign students.
In the next step, the school will conduct a comprehensive evaluation of the "Study Companion" project, carefully summarize and reflect on it, continuously improve its work, and live up to the expectations of Shandong University from all walks of life.

According to an earlier report by Cover News, a number of students suspected of being from Shungeng Campus of Shandong University of Finance and Economics broke the news online, saying that the school required some students in dormitory building No. 19 on the campus to move to another dormitory.
