During the peak period of returning from the Spring Festival, emergency vehicles were illegally occupied on the expressway, which caused dissatisfaction from some fellow passengers and car owners who reported "casual shooting". Recently, two car owners encountered the above situation on their way back. They chose to take photos of the vehicles occupying the emergency lane and report them. After the two posted their experience on social platforms, they attracted attention. Some people praised them for "well done", while others said "why bother being so serious".
On February 24, when interviewed by Jiupai News, the car owner Ms. Li said that she had been recording between 3:30 and 4:30 that day, and reported multiple vehicles in total. It took more than two hours to upload. "The phone is out of battery. Plug in the power bank and continue uploading." The reported information is still being processed. Ms. Li said that she posted the message to attract attention and wanted more people to join in reporting illegal vehicles in order to maintain traffic order.
On the 24th, according to upstream news reports, the car owner took a car from Guangxi back to Wuhan, Hubei Province during the Spring Festival return peak period. He encountered a congestion of about 6 kilometers on the highway in Hunan. The navigation showed that it would take about an hour to pass. Her family was driving at the time, and she was sitting in the passenger seat. She saw many vehicles occupying the emergency lane unscrupulously, and even caused more vehicles that were originally queuing to follow suit. "Seeing the emergency lane gradually turning into a 'fast lane', I feel that something must be done to stop this trend – the emergency lane is a life channel and should not become a shortcut for speculators, let alone those who queue up and obey the rules to suffer."
The car owner said that she tried to search the reporting channels of the Hunan Expressway Traffic Police and spent more than half an hour reporting more than 20 illegal vehicles. Currently, the system reports that 3 vehicles have failed to report due to unclear features or insufficient clarity in the photos, and the rest are still being processed.

Nine Pai reporters learned from the Hunan Provincial Expressway Traffic Police Department that from February 2 to March 13, the Hunan Expressway Traffic Police will continue to carry out the "Report Traffic Violations, Join Hands to Create Civilization" illegal reporting activity, advocating the majority of traffic participants to say "no" to uncivilized driving behaviors that disrupt traffic order. Regarding driving or parking in the emergency lane in non-emergency situations, Hunan Provincial Expressway will review all reports in accordance with the law, and the top 500 whistleblowers who pass the review will receive a "Traffic Police Bear".
