Construction Progress Of The Second Phase Of The Han-Ji-Wei Diversion Tunnel Exceeds 90%

China News Service, Xi'an, April 4 (Reporter Dang Tianye) On the 4th, the reporter learned from the Seventh Branch of the Fourth Bureau of China Railway that the construction of the Huangwu Tunnel of the South Trunk Line of the Han-Weiwei Phase II Project, which was constructed by the company, had accurately connected the key sections of the downstream of branch tunnel #19 and the upstream of branch tunnel #20, becoming the first section to be connected. The overall construction progress of the project exceeded 90%, pressing the accelerator button for the sprint to complete the entire line.

As one of the key water conservancy projects in the country's "14th Five-Year Plan", the second phase of the Hanjiang-Weihe River Diversion Project consists of three parts: the Huangchigou Water Distribution Hub, the Southern Trunk Line, and the Northern Trunk Line. It has a total length of 190 kilometers and can transport high-quality water resources from the Han River to 21 water-demanding areas such as Xi'an, Xianyang, and Weinan. This is crucial to solving the water shortage problem in Shaanxi Province.

It is understood that the total length of Huangwu Tunnel IV standard construction reaches 8,900 meters. It is a pressureless tunnel and is constructed using the drill and blast method. The control section of this penetration is 4,103 meters long and is located at the northern foot of the Qinling Mountains. It passes through the mica quartz schist formation, has abundant fissure water and passes through fault fracture zones many times. It also needs to go under the Qingliangshan Tunnel of the Xicheng High-speed Railway, making construction difficult and safety risky.

During the construction, the project department used BIM+GIS technology optimization solutions, using concentrated energy blasting and three-dimensional laser scanning to control the over- and under-excavation accuracy within 10 centimeters. It relied on intelligent equipment and more than 30 "Five Small Innovations" results to solve construction problems, and simultaneously implemented the wastewater recycling process of five-level sedimentation tanks combined with deep water treatment, adhering to the bottom line of green construction. All construction personnel worked hard day and night to carry out advanced geological forecasts every 100 meters to achieve zero safety and quality accidents throughout the process.

"This completion has created favorable conditions for subsequent lining transfers, marking a key step in the 'century project' to solve the problem of uneven distribution of water resources in Shaanxi, and laying a solid foundation for the early completion of the entire project. The project department will take this opportunity to continue to optimize the plan, strengthen management and control, strictly control safety, quality and ecological standards, and fully promote the remaining projects to help the project be fully completed and effective as soon as possible." said Li Bintao, head of the project department of China Railway Fourth Engineering Bureau.

After the completion of the project, it will play an important role in optimizing the allocation of water resources in Shaanxi Province, strengthening flood prevention and disaster reduction capabilities, improving the water ecological environment, promoting coordinated regional development, and improving water security levels. It can provide 1.5 billion cubic meters of Han River water to the Guanzhong region of Shaanxi every year, benefiting a population of 14.11 million. (over)
