As a very representative traditional classic event in the field of children's swimming in Shanghai, the Shanghai "June 1" Children's Swimming Competition, which carries a profound heritage of 35 years, is about to usher in a new chapter. Recently, registration for the 36th Shanghai "June 1" Children's Swimming Competition Divisional Competition has officially started, igniting the vitality of young people through swimming to pursue their dreams.
Thirty-five years after its establishment, the Shanghai "June 1" Children's Swimming Competition has long become the flagship of Shanghai's swimming program. It has witnessed generations of young swimmers move from ignorant beginners to pursuing their dreams in the competition. It is also known as the "cradle of champions" in Shanghai's swimming community.
According to statistics, the event has trained hundreds of national-level athletes. Many Olympic champions and world champions started from this youth event and gradually entered the international sports stage. This event is deeply involved in the field of children's swimming. With its professional event organization and standardized competition process, it has become the core platform for the selection of Shanghai swimming reserve talents.
For the participating teenagers, this competition is not only an arena to test the results of daily training and compete in swimming skills, but also a growth classroom to sharpen their will, temper their character, and inherit the spirit of sportsmanship.
This competition is divided into regional competitions and finals. The regional competitions have six divisions, namely the first division (Pudong New Area), the second division (Jing'an District, Jiading District, Putuo District), the third division (Hongkou District, Baoshan District, Chongming District), the fourth division (Changning District, Minhang District, Qingpu District), the fifth division (Yangpu District, Huangpu District, Xuhui District) and the sixth division (Songjiang District, Jinshan District, Fengxian District). The training units of junior sports schools and social training units in each district can register in their respective competition areas (individual registration is not accepted). Participants need to complete the registered projects in the competition area they registered for, and those who have achieved level 2 or above are eligible to register for the finals.
