Huobi.com and Huobi.com will receive a one-month buffer period: trading will cease before October 31st
After Shanghai and Shenzhen’s Bitcoin trading platforms Bitcoin China and Webit respectively announced that they would close their trading operations on September 30, on the evening of September 15, Huobi and OKCoin, two other large domestic Bitcoin trading platforms headquartered in Beijing, both announced that they would close their trading operations on September 30. According to the report, registration and RMB recharge business will be suspended from 21:30 on September 15, 2017; all users will be notified before September 30 that the transaction will be stopped, and all digital asset-renminbi trading businesses will be gradually stopped by October 31.
It is worth noting that unlike Bitcoin China and Webit, which directly announced the closing time of trading on September 30 in their announcements, the wording in the announcements of Huobi and OKCoin is that "all users will be notified before September 30 that trading will be stopped", and the actual time to stop all digital assets against the RMB trading business is October 31. In other words, Huobi and OKCoin received a one-month buffer period.
Regarding the next plan, both Huobi.com and OKCoin stated that they will only stop the RMB trading business this time, and other businesses will not be affected. At the same time, since the regulatory authorities have not declared Bitcoin and digital assets themselves illegal, they will actively explore and strive for it, hoping to continue to provide compliant digital asset services to Chinese users.
BMW wants to eliminate car keys and use mobile app to open the door
Ian Robertson, BMW's director of sales, said the company was assessing whether car keys continue to be necessary.
Robertson said in an interview with Reuters that almost all customers currently carry smartphones with them, and with the BMW App, users can easily open their car doors, making traditional car keys irrelevant.
"Frankly, how many people actually need a car key? Today, car owners no longer have to use a car key to start the car. Some car owners almost never take the car key out of their pocket, so there is no need to carry it," Robertson said.
Robertson said BMW is considering whether to eliminate car keys. "We're evaluating whether that's feasible; whether to phase it out now or wait a little longer," he said.
The local promoter of the "Shared Girlfriend" project was fined by the police station and left unknown.
On September 15, Taqu, an erotic e-commerce and gender communication community listed on the National Equities Exchange and Quotations, announced the launch of a "girlfriend sharing" service. The Sanlitun Police Station fined local promoters in Beijing for "vulgar activities disrupting social order" and required local promoters to take inflatable dolls out of Beijing.
The "shared girlfriend" service is to share inflatable dolls. According to reports, "Share Girlfriend" has launched five dolls, namely Hong Kong, Russian, Greek, Korean and Paradise Island styles. These shared dolls are made of solid silicone material, have the same height and weight as real people, and sell for tens of thousands of yuan on the market. After placing the order, you need to pay a deposit of 8,000 yuan. The rental fee for one day is 298 yuan, three days is 698 yuan, and one week is 1,298 yuan. After payment is completed, Taqu will deliver the product to your door and provide instructions on how to use it. After use, the staff will come to collect it for free, and the deposit will be returned, minus the usage fee.
At present, it is still unknown whether the "shared girlfriend" business will continue to exist.
EU to outline tax plan for online giants such as Google, Facebook
European Commission Economic Affairs Commissioner Moscovici said on Friday that the European Commission will prepare a list of legal options in the next few days to explore how to make multinational digital companies such as Google and Facebook pay more taxes.
Moscovici said the digital economy should be taxed like other economies. He is currently attending a meeting of Eurozone and EU finance ministers in Tallinn, the capital of Estonia, where taxation of the digital economy will be discussed on Saturday.
He also said that the executive committee will publish in the coming days "a report outlining all possible options" on increasing taxes on online giants, which have been accused of paying too little tax in Europe and transferring profits to low-tax countries such as Ireland or Luxembourg.
Moscovici said that this document will be ready before the EU leaders’ summit on digital issues on September 29.
Beijing requires shared bikes to buy insurance for renters
"Beijing's Guiding Opinions on Encouraging and Regulating the Development of Shared Bicycles (Trial)" was released on the 15th, clarifying that shared bicycles are an integral part of green travel and urban slow-moving transportation systems; each district is required to dynamically regulate the total amount of investment, and companies purchase insurance for users.
There are currently 15 shared bicycle companies in Beijing, with 2.35 million vehicles in operation. As the number of bicycles increases, problems such as chaotic parking and weak maintenance have gradually become problems in urban governance.
The "Opinions" clarify that the municipal-level competent authorities shall formulate policies and standards and establish a supervision and service platform. The district level regulates the quantity and pace of enterprise deployment in real time, prepares parking plans, formulates positive and negative lists for vehicle parking, and implements parking area location information, etc.
The enterprise assumes the main responsibility for the operation and management of the vehicles. The "Opinions" require enterprises to purchase personal accident insurance for lessees. Vehicles are equipped with on-board satellite positioning devices and commercial advertisements are not allowed. Enterprises should equip management personnel that match the scale of vehicle launch and promptly withdraw vehicles that do not meet quality standards. If you use a deposit, you must open a special account for corporate funds in Beijing. Real-name registration and user identity information shall be stored and used within mainland China and shall not be disclosed, leaked or provided to others without authorization. Before the company withdraws from operations, it must announce it to the public, return the lessee's deposit, and recycle all vehicles.
