The building where the fire broke out is a high-rise building with a podium. The main body operates a boutique hotel. There are many restaurants and other businesses on the ground floor. There are also KTV, billiards room, Internet cafe, etc. in the building.
The burned-out facade of the building is on the Yihe Lane side. The wall was burnt to a pitch black surface, partially exposing the building structure. A fence was set up at the exit of Yihe Lane, and a cordon was set up on the side. Vehicles from the fire protection, public security and other departments were parked at the scene, and staff stayed on duty here. Many citizens stopped and talked about the fire when passing by.
The fire started at around 20:00 on the 28th. An eyewitness near the building, Liu, told reporters that he saw smoke coming from the oil fume exhaust pipe on the ground floor, then a fire broke out above the restaurant. A few minutes later, the flames jumped up along the outer wall and spread to the roof. That night, the fire was extinguished and rescuers entered the building to search and rescue. He speculated that most of the injured should be customers eating at the restaurant. He mentioned that there were still staff working in the building during the day on the 29th. “The staff should be further investigating to confirm the origin of the fire.”
Many stores were severely damaged
According to media reports, a fire in a restaurant downstairs was suspected to have failed to be controlled in time, and the fire spread along the exterior wall to the roof.
Liu said that there was a fire at the location of the fire last year, which did not cause much damage at that time and was later rectified and repaired. During the visit, staff from other restaurants in the building also told reporters about this situation. One of them said the fire last year was not as serious as this one.

The reporter learned that many restaurants and businesses on one side of Yihe Lane have closed. A staff member of one of the closed restaurants said that after a fire broke out on the wall of the building on the evening of the 28th, the store staff urgently evacuated customers. There is currently no power in the store, and the store is still waiting for notification. A staff member of another restaurant whose store was severely damaged said that the store is waiting for notification of the store's damage assessment and subsequent disposal. Regarding the specific origin and cause of the fire, the restaurant staff interviewed said they were "unclear".
The wall was burned black
During the visit, a citizen told reporters that he happened to be passing by when the fire broke out in the building on the 28th. He saw that after the fire was initially under control, the injured were rescued by firefighters and handed over to medical staff for treatment. "I saw that some of the injured were neatly dressed and wearing white shoes. They may have been choked by smoke."
The reporter learned that on the evening of the 28th, the injured were sent to many hospitals for treatment.
According to media reports, after the incident, two people died after being sent to the hospital but failed to be rescued. The number of victims has now risen to three, and another 23 people were injured, 9 of whom were seriously injured. The cause of the fire is under investigation, and the aftermath is also being processed simultaneously.
According to the Emergency General Hospital, designated by the National Work Safety Emergency Rescue Center, the Emergency General Hospital dispatched six experts from the National Emergency Medical Rescue Team in burns, critical illness, respiratory, nursing and other fields.
