Data Comparison In 1995: Survey And Analysis Of Students’ Physical Fitness In Our School

Abstract: This article conducts a comprehensive analysis by testing the form, function, and physical fitness of our school students and referring to the 1995 National Student Physical Survey data, aiming to provide a scientific basis for the school to understand the physical condition of students and grasp the focus and direction of physical education work.

1Preface

The Party Central Committee and the State Council require that "the whole party and the whole society must proceed from the overall situation of the prosperity of our country's socialist cause and the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation, and be guided by Deng Xiaoping Theory, deepen educational reform, and comprehensively promote quality education." How school physical education, as an important part of quality education, can promote the overall development of students' quality and create new types of talents is an important topic that every physical education teacher has the unshirkable responsibility and deserves great attention. What is the physical condition of the students in our school? To this end, all the teachers in the physical education teaching and research section of our school conducted a survey and test for more than a month, and conducted a comprehensive analysis and comparison with reference to the 1995 National Student Physical Survey Data, which provided a scientific basis for the school to comprehensively and accurately grasp the physical condition of students and effectively carry out school physical education work.

2Survey objects and indicator composition

The survey subjects were 883 students in grades 96 and 97 of our school. Among them, there are 255 boys in Grade 96; 268 girls; 153 boys in Grade 97; and 207 girls. Level 96 and Level 97 represent the 18-year-old and 17-year-old age groups respectively. There are nine survey indicators, including height, weight, chest circumference, vital capacity, 50-meter run, standing long jump, strength (females: 1' sit-ups; men: pull-ups), endurance (females: 800-meter run, men: 1000-meter run), and standing forward bends. Among them: the functional indicators are vital capacity; the indicators reflecting physical fitness are 50-meter running, standing long jump, strength, endurance, and standing forward bend.

3 Result analysis

3.1 Comparison table between the physical fitness data of our school students and the national comparison table in 1995 1

3.2 The level of morphological development is significantly improved

① Compared with the national level 4 years ago, height and weight have increased significantly. The average height increase of students in the 17- and 18-year-old groups is 1.98 cm, and the average weight increase is 2.0 kg. Among them, the height increase of 17-year-old boys is 2.04 cm, and the weight increase is 1.9. 3 kg; the height of 17-year-old girls increased by 1.95 cm and weight by 2.06 kg; the height of 18-year-old boys increased by 2.03 cm and weight by 1.94 kg; the height of 18-year-old girls increased by 1.98 cm and weight by 2.07 kg.

② The degree of physical fitness of students has increased, and the "bean sprouts" shape has improved. The average growth rate of the weight/height ratio in 1995, which reflects the national data of the degree of physical fitness, is: 15.92 for boys and 12.41 for girls.

3.3 Improvement of physical fitness

①The speed quality of our school students in the 50-meter run improved by an average of 0.15 seconds compared with the national data in 1995.

② The quality of explosive power has improved. The standing jump of students in our school has improved by an average of 7.0 cm compared with the national data in 1995.

③The strength and quality of students in our school have improved. Indicators such as pull-ups and sit-ups increased by an average of 0.9 times and 5.1 times respectively compared with the national data in 1995.

4 There are some problems with the physical quality of students in our school.

① The endurance quality of students in our school has declined. The men's 1000-meter run and the women's 800-meter run, which reflect endurance quality, have dropped by an average of 2.48 seconds compared with the national data in 1995.

②The flexibility of students in our school has declined significantly. The decrease in orthostatic forward flexion was 1.2 cm on average compared with the national data in 1995.

③The vital capacity has decreased. The vital capacity index of students in our school dropped by 225 ml compared with the national average in 1995. The average decrease in vital capacity/body weight index, which reflects body function, was 4.42.

④The bust index is basically the same. Compared with the national data in 1995, the bust circumference of students in our school decreased by 0.23 cm on average for boys and increased by 0.25 cm on average for girls. Men and women are basically the same as the national average.

5 Discussion and Analysis

To sum up, the height, weight and other morphological and developmental indicators of our school students have increased significantly, and their speed, strength and other qualities have improved. This shows that in recent years, with the continuous improvement of our national living standards and the continuous development of education, the nutritional and educational levels of adolescents have generally improved. In particular, our school's effective implementation of the "School Physical Education Regulations" and the compliance with the "National Physical Exercise Standards" every year have significantly promoted the improvement of performance. However, the endurance, flexibility, and vital capacity of students in our school are lower than the national data. The direct reason is that students have less physical labor and insufficient physical exercise (including time and intensity), especially long-distance running. The main problem is the time arrangement, and there is also the problem of students' lack of will to exercise hard. Due to the increase in the number of only children, families and schools care too much for them, but do not cultivate their will quality enough. This makes the phenomenon of fear of hardship and tiredness common among students. Students avoid middle and long-distance running as much as possible when they hear it. In addition, the general improvement in living standards, excessive intake of calories and fat, and unreasonable food structure have increased the proportion of obese students.

6Conclusion

Compared with the national student physical fitness data in 1995, the physical condition of our school students is in good shape, but their physical functions are slightly lower than the national level. In terms of physical fitness, the qualities such as speed, explosive power, and strength are relatively good, while the qualities of endurance and flexibility are relatively low. The overall evaluation is that the physical fitness of our school students is above average. It is recommended that schools, in order to change the shortcomings of students' poor endurance quality and poor lung capacity, carry out a symbolic long-distance running activity "Endurance Exercise for the Motherland" every year in winter and spring. Form a system and develop a habit.
