In order to improve nursing leadership and promote the sustainable development of nursing, under the guidance of the Chinese Nursing Association, the Shenzhen Health Capacity Building and Continuing Education Center and the Shenzhen Nurses Association jointly organized the first "Pengcheng Nursing Excellence Leadership Training Course" in Shenzhen. December 11th to 15th was the "Domestic Benchmark Hospital Visit and Exchange" stage of the training course. 10 trainees visited Tongji Hospital for a 5-day visit and exchange.
The Nursing Department of Tongji Hospital attaches great importance to this event. Deputy Director of the Nursing Department Wang Ying (in charge of the work), Deputy Director Zeng Tieying, Deputy Director Liu Yu, Deputy Director Hu Luhong, as well as the Chief Nurse and the Head Nurse took part in the welcoming ceremony of the students. They introduced the general situation and nursing culture of Tongji, as well as the practical experience of precision nursing, etc., and led the students to visit the hospital history museum and branch campuses.
During the five-day visit and exchange, the Nursing Training Department of Tongji Hospital carefully designed and expanded the practice and exchange content based on the practice goals and the individual learning needs of the trainees, focusing on the six leadership qualities of "learning, teaching, decision-making, execution, organization, and charisma." The "Learning ability to adapt to the times, far-sighted decision-making power" module hosted by the Department of Internal Medicine, centered on the two themes of "improving quality and refining scientific research", through workshops on quality management elements and difficulties, case analysis of continuous quality improvement based on scientific research thinking, and clinical follow-up practice, so that trainees can have an in-depth understanding of ward nursing management, quality control methods, tools and evaluation effects; the module "Optimizing the organizational power of resources, and the execution ability to achieve results" hosted by the Department of Surgery, centered on the two themes of "Strengthening management and promoting development", through the perioperative period Full-process patient care practice, time management, manpower deployment, execution symposiums and accelerated recovery case sharing led by specialist nurses comprehensively demonstrated the charm of organization and execution to students; the "teaching power of team education and the charisma that unites people" co-hosted by the Department of Pediatrics and Obstetrics and Gynecology focused on the two themes of "emphasis on education and building brands", and demonstrated the effectiveness of patient health education and science popularization to students through visits to pediatric family wards, specialist disease alliance parent cloud classrooms, patient cloud online consultations, etc. In addition, outstanding head nurses were invited to share their experience in project management of "improving patients' medical experience and improving nursing quality", providing new ideas and methods for trainees to carry out project management.
This visit provided a platform for nursing managers between hospitals to learn from and promote each other. It was well received by the trainees and was also an affirmation and encouragement for the nursing management work of Tongji Hospital. The road ahead is long and development is now.
