From November 13 to 15, 2019, the three-day first annual meeting of the 12th Yiyang Nursing Professional Committee and Nursing Innovation Management Seminar was successfully held at Huatian Hotel under the careful organization and arrangement of the Yiyang Nursing Association and the Municipal Nursing Quality Control Center. More than 380 representatives from nursing deans, directors of nursing departments, head nurses and nursing backbones from various medical institutions at all levels in the city attended the meeting.
The conference received strong support from the Yiyang Municipal Health Commission, Yiyang Medical Association and the affiliated unit Yiyang Central Hospital. Tang Donghua, deputy director of the Municipal Health Commission, Zeng Yuehong, president of the Municipal Medical Association, Tian Haiqing, president of the Central Hospital, and Yang Lianqiu, deputy president, attended the opening ceremony and delivered important speeches. The opening ceremony was hosted by Li Yangping, secretary-general of the Medical Association. The results of the 12th general election of the Yiyang Nursing Professional Committee were read out at the meeting. Liu Manshi, director of the Nursing Department, was elected as the chairman of the new Nursing Professional Committee.
The clinical nursing practice case competition is a highlight of this conference. On the evening of the 13th, in the conference room on the first floor of the Internal Medicine Building of Yiyang Central Hospital, the city’s nursing elites gathered together in a warm atmosphere. 13 case presenters from 12 units across the city participated in the competition. This is the first clinical nursing practice case competition organized by our city. It is to showcase the latest clinical nursing practice results, promote and apply them throughout the city, and greatly improve the city's nursing technology level. After fierce competition, the three cases from our institute won the special prize, second prize and third prize respectively. The special prize case "Extracorporeal Manipulation Combined with Intracavitary Electrocardiographic Positioning Technology to Reset the Ectopic PICC Catheter in Newborns" and the first prize case "We Have a Tip for Standardized Insulin Injection" were shared at the Nursing Innovation Management Conference.
Nursing management innovation and academic lectures will bring this conference to a climax. The content covers nursing quality and safety, leadership change, nursing technology operation, deep vein thrombosis prevention and treatment, palliative care, narrative care, catheter fixation, critical patient transport care, etc. Li Lezhi, deputy dean of the School of Nursing of Central South University, was specially invited to teach "Common Issues in Hospital Review". The course content is novel in design, close to the actual clinical and management needs, and brings the latest concepts to everyone, leading everyone to change and improve.
This meeting also arranged a sharing session on nursing experience in hospitals at all levels. Yiyang Central Hospital, Taojiang County People's Hospital, and Medical College Affiliated Hospital respectively introduced their successful experiences in nursing management. Director Chen Guochun of Kangya Hospital shared his experience in nursing learning in Taiwan. During the meeting, Director Liu Manshi and Director Liu Xihe also organized a new working meeting of the Nursing Society and Quality Control Center members to deploy and arrange future work. The members communicated with each other, offered ideas and suggestions, and put forward constructive opinions and suggestions to jointly create a nursing blueprint for the development of the city's nursing industry.
This conference, whether it was special lectures, experience sharing, learning discussions, or case competitions, fully demonstrated the latest achievements in the field of nursing in our city, and had a strong inspiration and promotion effect on the nursing management work of hospitals at all levels. The Nursing Society and the Quality Control Center will continue to play a leading role and lead the city's nursing workers to "remain true to their original aspirations, keep their mission in mind, and forge ahead."
