Zhu Zengyong, a researcher at the Beijing Institute of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Medicine of the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences, said that after the Spring Festival, terminal consumption quickly entered the off-season, and the supply of live pigs was abundant, while supply was strong and demand was weak.
Experts said that the current national pig production capacity continues the trend of reducing reproductive sows in the fourth quarter of last year, and short-term supply pressure is difficult to completely alleviate.
