According to VG Times, the "Assassin's Creed" live-action series jointly produced by Ubisoft and Netflix has officially started filming in Rome, Italy. The series will continue to revolve around the secret struggle between the classic Assassin's Creed organization and the Templars.
For old fans of the series, the Italian story background of this game may be exciting, but unlike the Italian assassin Ezio we are familiar with, the story of this game will be about 1,400 years earlier. It will tell the story of Rome during the reign of Nero, and introduce new original characters and plots.
According to current information, this drama is not expected to be broadcast until the second half of 2027 at the earliest. For Ubisoft, this adaptation is another major attempt after the 2016 "Fashion" version of the "Assassin's Creed" movie.
In terms of the starring cast, the male lead is played by Toby Wallace, who appeared in the third season of "Euphoria"; the female lead is played by Lola Petticrew, who received attention for her appearance in "Keep Silent".
The creative team of the show includes Roberto Patino, who has participated in the production of "Westworld", and David Wiener, who participated in the production of the second season of "Halo", will serve as the series coordinator. The director is Emmy Award winner Johan Renck.
It is also worth mentioning that Ubisoft has previously hinted that the "Assassin's Creed" live-action drama will have major announcements in the future, but it cannot reveal much information in the short term.
From the 2016 movie version to today's live-action drama, the film and television version of "Assassin's Creed" has always attracted players' attention. This time, the story is not only set in ancient Rome during the Nero period, but also uses completely original characters and plots.
