According to CCTV News, on March 11, local time, U.S. President Trump stated that there were “almost no targets left” in Iran and that the U.S. military operation against Iran “is about to end.”
However, U.S. and Israeli officials said they have not yet received any internal orders to halt military operations. Israeli Defense Minister Katz said on the same day that the joint Israeli-US military operation against Iran has "no time limit until we achieve all our goals."
Previously, it was reported that Israeli Foreign Minister Sa'ar said on the 10th local time that Israel does not seek an "endless war" with Iran and will coordinate with the United States at the appropriate time to decide when to end military operations against Iran.
Saar made the remarks at a press conference in Jerusalem with visiting German Foreign Minister Waldfurt.
Sa'ar did not give a specific timetable for the current military operation. He stressed that Israel will continue military operations until Israel and its partners deem it "appropriate to stop."
Sa'ar claimed that Israel's goal is to "eliminate the existential threat posed by Iran to Israel in the long term," but it is difficult to achieve it with the existence of the current Iranian regime. Israel believes that regime change in Iran "may occur after the end of military operations" and that the current military operations are aimed at creating conditions for regime change.
On the afternoon of the 10th local time, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Bagaei stated that Iran and the United States have conducted two negotiations in the past year or two, but the United States launched attacks on Iran each time during the negotiations. Therefore, Iran will not believe any commitments made by the United States. Currently, Iran's main energy is focused on maintaining national sovereignty and territorial security.
Bagaei also reiterated that Iran’s current counterattacks are mainly targeting Israeli and US military bases in the region, and Iran has no intention of becoming an enemy of regional countries.
The United States and Israel launched large-scale military strikes against Iran on February 28, and Iran launched counterattacks against Israel and U.S. military bases in the Middle East.
