【1】AI development trend is irreversible

Jiupai News: At the end of 2025, Feishang Technology held a seminar related to AI empowerment. As the person in charge of a technology company, what do you understand by AI?

Liu Wenfeng: At present, the AI ​​that we ordinary people are exposed to is more generative AI, which can generate documents or videos, but in fact AI is more than that.

I think the main body of AI is to conduct in-depth analysis of data, and Feishang Technology is a natural AI participant. Because our main job is to monitor the structure, obtain a large amount of data, conduct in-depth analysis of the data, and make decisions based on the analysis.

In specific usage scenarios, such as safety assessment of structures (note: such as bridges and tunnels), obtaining monitoring data for intelligent alarming, the process of intelligent alarming is an application of AI. This is not determined by patting oneself on the head, but based on real-life data.

From a macro perspective, I think the development of AI is an irreversible trend, and there are many opportunities in different industries, so I personally respect the development of AI very much.

Jiupai News: In the actual work of corporate employees, can AI replace some positions?

Liu Wenfeng: We can’t say replacement yet, but empowerment of certain positions. For example, when it comes to writing plans, in the past, the fresh graduates we recruited, whether they had a master's degree or a doctorate, needed to work hard in the industry for many years before they had the ability to write good plans. But now, by using AI, he can basically get started as soon as he joins the job.

From about the end of 2024 to the beginning of 2025, we independently developed some systems and collected thousands of cases within the company to form a large model. New employees can learn within this system and assist them in generating their own results. In addition, there is also more professional AI in the industry, which facilitates us to obtain more data and helps us better evaluate the safety performance of test objects.

【2】Give space for the implementation of new technologies

Jiupai News: During the two sessions in previous years, you repeatedly mentioned the need to promote the transformation of scientific and technological achievements. What difficulties are you currently facing in the process of transformation?

Liu Wenfeng: Overall, the country's guidance is very good, and there are many positive responses, but there are still some operational paths that need to be cleared up.

My proposal this year mentioned the bidding system. Currently, in the bidding process, reviewers often focus on the historical performance of the company and how many successful cases the company has had in the past. But for new technologies, there is no performance and there are not many successful cases. Therefore, in the traditional bidding system, its competitiveness is relatively weak.

Therefore, in this case, the value of the “first unit and first set” (note: that is, domestic equipment products that have achieved major technological breakthroughs, possess intellectual property rights, and have not yet achieved significant market performance, including complete equipment, core systems, and key components, etc.) is reflected.

Jiupai News: Without historical experience, the review team will indeed have concerns.

Liu Wenfeng: That’s right. In most cases, quantifiable results will be more important. For new technologies, this must be a minus. I also have some thoughts of my own on this, and will formulate suggestions that I hope can move forward. First of all, we must respect objective laws. Mature cases can become bonus points for companies in bidding. Can we also give certain bonus points to the attributes of technology companies and give technology companies a channel for technology implementation?

This year, I will make a suggestion on accelerating the opening of application scenarios and encourage local governments to attract investment by releasing new application scenarios, such as smart cities, smart security monitoring and other smart application scenarios, so that new technologies can be implemented in such new scenarios.

Jiupai News: What other suggestions will you bring this year?

Liu Wenfeng: There are mainly several aspects. One is about the transformation of scientific and technological achievements, and the other is mainly based on suggestions on the business environment of private enterprises.

【3】Need to strengthen communication between academia and industry

Jiupai News: As the person in charge of a company, what abilities do you value in candidates?

Liu Wenfeng: First of all, we must have a sense of rules and use our personal abilities while respecting organizational management. As individuals, only by respecting the organization can we play a better role in the organization. The second is the ability to continue learning. Because the abilities or professional knowledge developed in school can only last for one or two years, continuous learning and continuous improvement of professional abilities are required to keep up with the needs of development.

Jiupai News: Will fresh graduates be at a disadvantage in recruitment?

Liu Wenfeng: I personally don’t think existing technical abilities have much value. Whether they are acquired in school or in the market, continuous learning is required in any position. The existing abilities will reach the ceiling in a short period of time, so I value the ability to continue learning more.

Jiupai News: In practice, do fresh graduates have a high degree of matching with the needs of enterprises without training?

Liu Wenfeng: At present, especially for graduate students and doctoral students, the system of cultivating talents in universities serves the scientific research system rather than the industry. So I think there is still room for discussion between industry, academia and research.
